    LOL

Unfair to use NVIDIA products, must.....not....diss....dark.....master.......

You have a point, but I'm guessing at the 2.5 years you're at you're pretty much ready to buy a new card? Your user experience goes down each year with graphics cards and you're giving up on AA and things like that pretty quickly at higher res like 20X11.

yeah, i'm ready to buy a new card, but that's only cos i recently sold an i7 system with SLi'd GTX260s cos i got a REALLY good offer on it so i'm not too fond of the decrease in power.

well i can run CoDMW2 at it's highest settings now (no AA though) and that's as good as i need really. i get about 50 - 60fps on that.

but yeah, as a mid range card, and if i used a mid range resolution too (1680 x 1050 or 1400 x 900) i reckon i could get most games to run at max settings.

No one here is anti-nvidia. They are just sick of your anti-AMD rantings and the recent debacle of nvidia disabling cuda when it finds an AMD card present has angered people.......combine that with nvidia not releasing anything new (but re-badging lots of older stuff) and there isn't much in the way of nvidia products to recommend at the moment.

I didn't say they were, I was making a joke about myself. (and this thread is no "anti AMD rant" - I'm recommending one AMD card over another)

Don't want to discuss NVIDIA cards in this thread, the topic is 4890 vs 5770. Would be happy to if you want to start a "5770 vs GTX260C216" or "5850 vs GTX285" thread.

People say I take threads off topic and "cause arguments"- look at what I've said here and say I've done either. Your own post here goes totally off topic in several directions that could lead to arguments. Something to think about.

    £127 inc P&P
May the force be with you should you need to RMA with Pixmania......My HD4850 gave up after 6mths. returned via UPS (paid by Pixmania) fast. Then the saga began...They did not repair the card and credited my "Pixmania" account. I wanted the money back in my credit card so I could buy replacement card elsewhere. Anyhow, after nearly 2mths got money bank into bank account. I probably made over 15 phone calls to their call centre in the Czech Rep.
TBH, I personally, prefer to pay a bit more for the likes of Scan and rest assured that RMA procedure will be quick and smooth.
Having said all that, do enjoy your new baby

yeah i've not heard great things about their customer service, but i thought i would risk it.
I used this to get £7 off, http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/s_ac...age/index.html. just sign up with a email address that you wont use to order, go to the link and send a code to your real email address. then sign up with your real email address and enter your code.
