    $270 = £170 + VAT + 10% UK ripoff tax = £219.95

6870 is supposed to be between 5850 and 5870 which are currently around £190 and £275 respectively. So yeah, £220-240 sounds about right. Probably nearer £240 to milk the must-have early adoptors.

Re: Asus HD 6850 and HD 6870 listed online

Hmmm but the 6870 is replacing the 5770 however it has more power equivalent to a 5850 and so it is not replacing the 5850 its just comparable with the 5850 the 5850 will be replaced by a card in the 6900s and thats why the 6870 should be cheaper i say around 170-200 is fine

Re: Asus HD 6850 and HD 6870 listed online

According to the early guru3d review that just got accidently posted 6850 will be EU159 (£141) and 6870 EU209 (£185), assuming plus vat that would be £165/£220, which would be good. 6870 was consistently just under the 5870 in the benchies.

Those are super-prices. OCUK has got the Saphire and HIS models for £200 and £150... ok, they are better brands, but that is a considerable premium!

Re: Asus HD 6850 and HD 6870 listed online

OCUK has the 6870s in stock though.

The XFX on sale at Scan has what looks to be a similar 'Zalman esk' circular cooler underneath the shroud, like what MSI and the original Gigabyte 460 1gb cards had, which might be weaker than the ones OCUK have. Also a weeker selection of output sockets at the back.

Worth spending the extra £10 on a £150 card? Possibly not. The radial coolers seem to have been ok with the higher heat 160Wtdp 460s and most people are not likely to need 2 mini display port outs any time soon.

You make it sound as if they're shipping cards out as we speak, of course Scan will have some when they fully update in the morning

Read the guru review - Nvidia will need another price drop, even then I'm not sure that will be enough.

6870 is mightily fast for the price.

I wonder if I can sell my 5850 on Ebay haha! Make some money from a sideways upgrade but save energy/electricity (and more room, less heat)

Nice! Just preordered the 6870 XFX for £180 from scan, not bad for a card almost as fast as a £280 5870!
