    Which 560 ti to buy?

I was quite tempted to get the 1GB MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II/OC from Scan for £213.07 but I have seen that Gainward are doing a 2GB version £249.98 which got a good review at hardwareheaven.

Does the memory size make £37 difference (is it more future proof?) or will I not really notice?

Re: Which 560 ti to buy?

£260 odd is 570/6970 territory. A 560 should be around 200. With so many cards at so many price points and withfierce competition I can not really see the advantage in spending much more on a better model. The unlockable 6950s 2gb should be available for about £200; keep in mind this is not guaranteed.

Can't comment on the 2gb. If you are at 1920x1080/1200 I can't see it being much help.

The best indicator would be reviews of the 6950 1gb vs 2gb cards.

Re: Which 560 ti to buy?

is the Evga sc version that scan have for £198.67 not better value

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-e...vi-i-mini-hdmi

the current crop of 560 cards dont run particularly hot and the evga has higher clock speeds then the msi for less money evga 900/1800/4212 msi 880/1760/4200

or if you were looking at the 2gb card to answere domestic ginger the 6950 1gb v2gb the cards were almost identical in performance with the 1gb slightly outperforming the 2gb in some tests
    http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=29032&page=1
    review there

you'll also notice that in that review the 6950 is slightly better, With the unlock possibilities its gotta be worth consideration as its the same price

I'm probably going to buy the Gainward 2GB card myself due to running two 1920x1200 monitors.

The 2gb model seems to start stretching its legs at 2560 with AA turned up. Can't find a decent review of a 560 2gb.

Re: Which 560 ti to buy?

The MSI 560 does have the very good cooler attached. I've seen some test on temp which resulted in the MSI's favour.

However the EVGA has better clock speeds out of the box.

I guess it depends on if you wanted to clock the GPU or an out of the box solution?

Re: Which 560 ti to buy?

Unless you are going for ultra high resolutions (>1920x1200) then don;t bother with >1.5Gb memory. It's almost completely pointless in real world benchmarks. Certainly not worth blowing your budget over.

Using the logic that "it's only £37 more" you'd be better off spending "just another £15" and getting the 570....

Alternatively, save yourself a few quid and get a 480. You get the same performance, a a 570, but it consumes a couple of watts more and doesn't overclock quite as well as the 570.

I'm still very happy with mine! So much so, I bought a second one and then watercooled them...

Re: Which 560 ti to buy?

The 2GB Palit version is £220 from scan , if your after the memory.

    I'm in the same situation , either 2 x 560's , or 2x570's (if they come down to 251 again!) ,

just can't stop thinking the about 1GB vram though.

How about the price cuts on the 480? Too noisy?

The 1gb version will be fine in most cases then. I'd not spend the extra for a 2gb version.

I would get the overclocked EVGA one as i believe EVGA have one of the best RMA's in Europe, along with Gigabyte

Re: Which 560 ti to buy?

I have been looking at the EVGA SC myself my 9800GTX died in November and I had to do an RMA with them it took about 2 weeks but most of that time was it getting there and once they had it a replacement was shipped the next day got myself a 9800GTX+ back. Guess that service got them some brand loyalty as I will look at their products above others as long as they are competitively priced.
