check what more you get when you go full retail instead of lite... if it's worth it. not always it is I believe...

Light travels faster than sound. Is this why some people appear bright until you hear them speak?
well, you get the manual and 2 extra games, can't remember what they are but they are both first person shooters and are meant to be fairly good ones acording to reviews
Well, if you want both the games it's worth it I suppose. I never asked you, what card are you currently using?

at the moment its a Geforce 4 MX420
I think it must be worth the extra £17 for 2 games, power DVD although i already have it and the sapphire tweak utility for overclocking etc.
Yeah, sounds good enough... Time to go shopping then?

could well be
I got the OEM 9800pro from Scan.. proper ATI manufactured and everything.. and it has the fast core from the 9800XT in it, so if ya want to OC it then all you need to do is get a bigger heatsink and then turn it up

Not sure it is worth it, to be honest. The games; one (Return to Castle Wolfenstein) is average, and SOF2 is poor. The tweak thing is nothing special, and Power Strip, Rage3D, and a million other progs will do the same thing. PowerDVD: worth the price of the retail of the lite?
Get the lite, and put the money you save aside, for Half Life II.
ok, i've been looking around the web and some places say it includes tomb raider and some say it includes the 2 games you say.
Maybe i should put the money i save aside :s
Or actually get some more RAM, thats a good idea
just thought that i could get an arctic cooling VGA Silencer
Where's the best place to get it from at a good price?
I'm running pretty much the same setup you have there with Dell Dimension 4500 and the 250W PSU, and I just bought a 9800PRO today. So I was just wondering if you got the 9800 PRO and installed yet or not? Mainly because I want to see if it'll work....I plan on buying a new psu and case and mobo anyways, but for the moment I want to use my new vid card...
and does anyone know if something bad will happen if there isn't enough power for the card? I'm running everything ben_wade has, except I have a separate cd-r/rw and dvd drive and 2 harddrives (one with linux and one with Win XP, so they'll never be spinning at the same time).
Thanks, Steve.

If your Psu is not supplying enough power then you will get random crashes.Originally Posted by Steve_Reeves
