    Upgrading my graphics card

    Hi there,

I currently have a GTX 460 (768mb) and want to upgrade.

I'm thinking about either the MSI 560 TI 2GB or the 2GB 6950.

I've never really had any problems with Nvidia (except the recent drivers) however I'm open to change if it means i'll get a better card / pound for pound.

    Any recommendations?

    Appreciate any help

I would wait until summer as both AMD and Nvidia would have released their new ranges by then.

with Nvidia about to release new cards, there may be a price drop on old cards just around the corner. Not sure if the performance increase is worth it atm between the 2 Nvidia cars, might want to hang off
We're only here for the Banter - The Luvvies - Chewin' The Fat

Violence and Lubrication is the solution to fixing everything, if it still doesn't work, you need more lubrication.

ahhh god. I was thinking about this..

the problem is, i've sold the 460 to my friend, which will leave me cardless post Tuesday.

are there any confirmed dates of the new releases?

    Thanks to you both.

    Re: Upgrading my graphics card

Late/end of February for AMD's 7850/7870, which are the cards that are destined to be effectively as fast as the previous top end 6950/6970 (or thereabouts). However as they'll be midrange they will be very frugal on power usage. TDP's of 90w/120w. Various rumours about pricing floating about!

    Re: Upgrading my graphics card

    Thanks for the reply!

I actually took the plunge and purchased the 2GB MSI 560TI card.

There's nothing in the box about the free Battlefield 3 game. No download codes or anything on the receipt.

Anyone know how I go about redeeming my free game?

    Thanks

edit: I see on the product list that Scan have taken away the free BF3 game. I definitely ordered when it was there since that was what swung me to order from Scan! I've contacted Scan by email. Hopefully get this resolved.

    Thanks.

I took a screenshot of the product page when I ordered clearly showing in the title that BF3 is also supplied with the card. It's happened to me before this with another company so I wanted to make sure it didn't happen to me again!

Will update tomorrow when I get a reply.
