Hey guys, I upgraded to an ATI 9700 Pro the other week and couldn't be happier with how it is performing at present. It also has a VGA Silencer Arctic cooler, but i have not overclocked it whatsoever.
I was just wondering, how much longer will the 9700 pro last with next gen games, before i have to consider upgrading to an x800 or 6800 ultra?
Will the 9700 pro cope with doom 3 and half life 2?
Or will i need to overclock?
Or am I worrying over nothing?
No harm in overclocking- just do it in 5mhz stages if/when you decide to
Your card will play half life 2 and Doom 3 with no problems though obviously not at full, game box screenshot, spec. I would expect simmilar performance to farcry with hl2 at least.
Have a go at overclocking. Plenty of us here will guide you throught step by step if need be and you'l probably get a nice boost- i know i did
