ATI 98oo All in wonder 128

    Hi

I recently swopped cases and while I was there I put a Zalman ZM80 heatsink on the named graphics card. When powering up the pc I get continous beeps and a message saying the power extension lead isn't connected to the ATI card.
I wore a ESD strap while swopping everything over and was generally carefull all went ok.
The system as I bought it came with the power lead going into the sound card (aux). I plugged the original fan back in and it is working so the card is oviously getting power. Does it sound like the card is broken?
My motherboard doesn't have a VGA connector so I can't try it without the ATI card!
    Any help much appreciated.

Incredibly, incredibly sorry if you know this, but you need to attach your PSU to the card via one of the four pin connectors...the cable going to your soundcard is for the AIW audio.

If I understand correctly you are only plugging the Graphics card fan in?

There is a 4-pin connector at the top right of the picture which needs power from a floppy power lead.
Feel free to shout at me if you've already done this.

Theres a 4 pin "floppy type" power connector on the card that needs to be plugged in as well - is it?

edit: beaten to it, twice ....

There's a few that could be recommended, do you have a specific budget?

One connector doesnt mean you need a while new psu!!!
The 9x00 series only need +5v and ground, the yellow and one of the black wires are compleatly unneeded.

Get yourself a molex->floppy power adaptor, there about £1 and ebuyer should sell them.

And Akasa are possibly one of the most budget component makes Ive ever heard of, usually make cables and stuff as there cheap. Wouldnt be suprised if there psus are much like qtecs.

Scan have a good range of psus for just about any budget, i recommend the CWT/meridian branded ones which are silent.
