    Problem with lighting effects!

Well, first off here are the specs you need to know:

    Sapphire 9800Pro 128MB 256bit still in guarentee
ATI Catalyst 4.8s, had the same problem with 4.9s though
    DirectX 9.0c
    WindowsXP Pro SP2

here's an example of my problem:

I have installed 4.8s instead of 4.9s (I think it was after i installed 4.9s that it went funny) and reinstalled DirectX

    Any Ideas?

see if turning off antialising sorts it.. Some games it just doesnt work with properly and messes up the lighting.

Edit: Is that nfs:u? that shouldnt have the problem..

Check the card isnt overheating with your finger on the back of the gpu.

Apart from that I can only think reinstall the game and dx9, and use drivercleaner.

Have you used any gfx tweaking programs like powerstrip or rage 3d?

Thanks, no i havn't tried reinstalling the game, going to wait until i have a working mouse and try it in farcry.

Yup it is NFSU, i havn't seen if it's overheating but it does it from when the game starts so i think it's unlikely.

I've already reinstalled dx9 and used drivercleaner with no luck

And nope, no tweaking programs i don't think.........might have used ATI Tool....what are the 9800 default speeds?

    Thanks everyone
    Ben

I get similar thing if I switch FSAA on in Toca Race Driver. Make sure you have FSAA and AF set to application preference.

Yup, all set to app preference

I had a play on another of my NFSU profiles and the problem wasn't there so i asume i just need to reinstall NFSU?

I've got a new mouse now so i'll try Farcry later!

I've had this problem, think the lastest game patch solved it.
