    PNY 6800GT Pros

I got my PNY 6800GT the other day and all is good. I started playing Doom 3 (With all the setting on high) and 10 mins in to the game it crashes with a looping sound and after about a few secs it went back to normal, after another 10 mins the same with happen. So i said to myseft F*$k this and played another game. I put Call Of Duty in and started playing MP and the game was running great but with alot of artifacts flying around, i uninsatlled the Nvidia drivers (61.77) and reinstalled them and the same thing happen. I also get artifacts in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War.

Can anyone out there HELP me

Sounds bad - have you tried updating Bios etc? Have you tried feeling the card for heat - perhaps the fan is not running as it should, ie staying in 2d mode during games or something (I don't have nvidia so I'm guessing here)

Artifacts do not sound good at all and I think I'd have to recommend sending it back to the shop/manufacturer.
Seems a lot of Geforce 6 cards are screwing up for people

Are you overclocking your CPU or memory ?. If not then it appears your card is defective. I have had similar problems when pushing my CPU to its limits so I have clocked back a bit since the 6800 GT was installed.

Man I cant believe the number of 'my 6800GT crashes in game' recently. It definetly sounds like there are some issues with the cards/or maybe the drivers. All the threads I have read indicate the same behaviour, and if I recall right it aint from one manufacturer or anything.

And yet, in the 3 months I've had my 6800GT, I've stuffed about 20 games through it and not had a single problem. Can't blame bad rigs/set-ups on 6800GTs. I'm sure if you looked around you'd see just as many threads for X800s - and once again it's probably not the cards that are at fault.

    Just my 2 penneth.
