It might be worth holding off a month, until AMD's Mantle API is launched, it does seem promising.. though 770 is a pretty solid choice at the moment.

Promising yes, but it'll only help in games that are written for Mantle.

Besides, the OP has already gone for a 280X, making a lot of this debate moot. Games may come in the next 3 years that will need more than 2GB of frame buffer at 1080p; if they do the OP will be ready for them with his 3GB card anyway

Just a quick not to say that I noticed scan has a MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming 3G AMD Graphics Card - 3GB in stock right now for £229. I only menthion it because for the last couple months i have not seen one this cheap for love nor money so someone on this thread might be looking
