Ati Radeon Cards X series

Hi there! I was just wondering about the X300 from ati and it's value! Would appreciate a little review on it, compared to other cards at bottom of the post ^_^
could you please help me choose from these cards as well, and tell me why you would choose which?

X300
X600 Pro
X700 Pro
X700 XT
X800 Pro
X800 Xt

First tell us the maximum amount of £££ you can spend.

Otherwise we will all say get the X800XT because its the bestest!

X300 really isn't worth bothering with, and I'd be inclined to say the X800s are silly money for the few % boost they would give over a more midrange card.

Other than that, I don't have a clue. Have a look at a few X700 XT reviews and see how they compare.

I could spend something like 400 Canadian dollars...which make approx. 100 dollars more than a X700 pro actually(price has been taken on the ati website 22 november)...

Caged mate, read a few reviews and look at a few tables - compared to the 'midrange' cards they are in a different universe mate. Even counting 9800pro's and 5950Ultra's as midrange, and they are still on a different planet.

On a good rig, you can expect 6000 3D marks in 2003 on a 9800pro, and 14,000 on a X800XT or 6800Ultra rig. Although 3DMark is not the be all and end all of gaming, those sorts of massive score's translate into real and very large performance gains in real life gaming situations.

It is not true to say you get a 'few % boost over mid-range cards' really mate. You get a massive boost. Unless you play old games at low res, its sometimes twice as fast.

Don't get me wrong, the 9800pro is better value for money, but saying its just a few % of a mid-range card improvment is vastly understating the case.

Is it true that the Ati Radeon X700 Pro is limited to only 128 mb? I just checked on the Ati website and it was written(in the prices list): Ati Radeon X700 Pro 256mb(im talking about X700 pro actually, not the XT version ^_^)
