Why do I have to be delivery no 55????

I had the same thing when my 970 arrived via DPD last week. Think I was delivery no. 50, and thought there was no way he'd get to me by the forecast time of 1.30, but he did. The funny thing was, he was never more than a few miles away from me the entire time, but I guess they just get given a shedload of deliveries to do in one specific area.

When I ordered at Scan though, it still said my delivery date was tomorrow lol. I did not expect this magic.

Nice. I caused a bit of a PITA for scan support though lol.

Changed my order to the Gigabyte cards, then a while later they read my email and changed them to the Gainwards, then I had to call again to change back to the gigabytes ...

Its all sorted now though, two gigabyte Windforce OCs should be with me on monday. Im not really bothered about paying £50 more for slightly higher clocks on the G1 cards anyway, I currently still run my GTX 680s undervolted to 1150 Mhz instead of the stock 1205 and my CPU at stock speed so they dont dump out too much heat, I only really OC for benchmarks. They should still clock into the 1400s, just not up to around 1500 like the G1 is what I'm thinking.

One problem though, I already listed my GTX 680 lightning editions for sale elsewhere, but then OCUK go and do a huge sale on GTX 700s with 770s for the same price I wanted for mine (£180). So I'll probably have to wait longer until such offers end.

Hopefully I can still sell them for enough so that each 970 only ends up having cost me around £100.

If you can when you get the chance can you drop some performance numbers, single and sli, it should be interesting to see how they fair against the G1's because it might be the case that there the same thing just with a added name to make it bling.

I no longer overvolt for 24/7 use because I cant tolerate gaming inside an oven, so I didnt need the G1s anyway.

The windforce OC version also doesnt come with a backplate, plus the cooler is slightly smaller, but if it turns out the GPU performs the same then theres quite a saving to be had.

I ordered the card from scans ebay shop hence the cheap price because of the use of a ebay voucher plus nectar points, and in the order details it says next day delivery but i have no tracking number with it, and as you mentioned they deliver on Sundays shouldn't i get it today then.

Just throwin this out there, do you think i made a good choice with the msi, because i was thinking about the ones you got and i could have got it £20 cheaper?

Yes, I'd have gone with MSI as my first choice always, but I needed 3x display port outputs (getting +2 ROG Swift monitors for my next upgrade). My 680s were MSI lightning editions (sold cheap as power editions and flashed). Those were awesome cards.

I'm more glad I didnt end up getting Palit or Gainward ones now.

For real i hear ya, that's good to know then, i also had the flashed 680 power edition, and sold it. it was a pretty good card but it did get quite toasty.

Its so annoying that at one point, the DPD driver is within minutes of my address, and then hes at the other side of the city lol. Their pathing routine for deliveries is lame.

The 290 Tri-X is a great card, I'd personally keep that rather than jump ship.

Perhaps wait for the next Maxwell iteration (GM210) to launch before upgrading.
