    Asus X800XT Unknown device errors?

Hi guys, some assistance needed. I use an Asus (ATI) Radeon X800XT, whic is working fine in my MCE P4 3.2Ghz machine.

However I recently had cause to do a reformat and rebuild of MCE2005.

Even with the latest ATI Cat drivers (4.12) I end up with two devices showing as 'Unknown Devices' under the other devices fold out in Device Manager.

When looking a the the details these are both listed as 'Other Devices .. on Radeon X800XT Platinum Edition'.

I've even gone to the extent of removing all drivers and installing those which came with the original card - makes no difference.

For reference the HP L2335 (DVI driven) monitor shows up fine under the monitors section as does the 14" basic TFT I've got plugged into the VGA port.

Any ideas at all as this is driving me nuts. I can't think what else it might be looking to interface with!

    Cheers!

I just can't think of anything else it could be looking for!

Yep, working absolutely perfectly! That is the weird thing. I've been struggling with resolving the issue over the last two weeks sinve the rebuild and even though I'm an IT Admin it has me stumped, so I thought hopefully the guys on Hexus will be able to assist

unless someone more technically savvy turns up, you might just have to bite the bullet as annoying as that is !

Does this card have VIVO features? ATI's website states AIW & VIVO are not currently supported in MCE2005.

That will be the cause...Lack of support.
I would try driver cleaner and then put some Omega or DNA Drivers on to see if that helps.

I don't think it can be an isue with AIW & VIVO as these unknowns were not there before the rebuild.

You've lost me with the Omega and DNA drivers, what are these and where can one get them from?

Cheers for that - on the way now. Never seen these before, they look mighty interesting especially with the L2335 monitor!
