did u try my post??
enable agp 3.0 calibration
Hi jimmyboy,
yes i use the agp 3.0 calibration and that seems to have done the trick.
Basically what i had to do to get it working nicely again was to do a complete uninstall of the drivers using driverclean pro, install fresh copy of the latest ones and switch on the calibration in the BIOS.
Now it's sweet, i recently replaced the cooler on the card with an Arctic Cooling model and discovered the VPU is an R360, which is the chip from the 9800 XT. So now i have the card flashed with an XT bios and use ATITool to run it at XT frequencies so all is better than i'd hoped!
Cheers all, job's a good un.

oh forgot to mention, i didn't have to disable fast writes either. From now on I'll leave the calibration switched on and always remove the old catalysts with driverclean pro as well
was surprised at the amount of rubbish the standard ATi uninstaller left behind, you'd have thought they could at least write the uninstall script properly...
