I have an XP Pro SP2 system with an X800 Pro (AGP), the VGA port is connected to a 21" CRT monitor.

A recent purchase was a Philips 32PF9986 32" LCD TV with DVI-I input, capable of handling 576p, 720p and 1080i from the HDMI output from my Samsung HD945 DVD player.

If I connect the DVI-I to the second port of my graphics card, I don't get any picture on it and I can't convince the second display to activate (I enable it and say that I want my desktop extended to this monitor, but when I apply the changes it becomes disabled again).

I have tried the Omega and Catalyst drivers without success.
If I use the Y-adapter which is "DVI-I to VGA and DVI-I", I continue to get a picture on the VGA connector (after rebooting) so this implies to me that the DVI-out is okay on the graphics card.

The DVI-I cable is connected to my Marantz AV amp now, but so is the DVD player and that works fine and the TV detects the changes between the HDMI modes used so it shouldn't cause a problem I think...

Anyone have any ideas how I can enable the second display to use VGA & DVI-I at the same time?
