    !! scalper

don't forget to factor in currency inflation - you should sell it for more than you paid for it to breakeven in real terms.

Ah yes indeed, though I am not actually selling it, I just meant people are selling the same card as mine for almost the price I paid for it

I was given a GTX1060 6Gb for free last year for helping a friend upgrade his old rigs, and they're going for £250+ now. Insane. It's sitting in my HTPC and it sure is tempting to sell it.

In a short version, yeah that's an easy way to look at it. If you knew things were shutting down for a week, you'd take other steps to make sure stuff wasn't wasted or sitting waiting in warehouses or whatever, so it works out to longer than 1 week total delays.

don't - unless you have somethng else to put in its place, and getting something, anything, at the moment is not a simple thing (unless you want an overpriced GT710)

Yea I've already been bitten by that. Sold off some stuff end of last year to build a AMD 5000 series based rig, but I left it too late and refuse to pay these silly prices now. Too bad, will ride out the storm on old gear and the missus will have to wait for her pc.

I suspected that. Likely we will see a "knock on" effect on GPU supply.

I sold my RTX 2060 for that price just before the GPU market started going crazy last year If only I had held it a little longer ...

hindsight's a git no? I bought a 2060 in august, then sent it back as they announced the 3000 series would support win7. Paid <£200 more and went up to equivalent of a 2080ti! Now that was a bullet dodged.

You win some and you loose some. In this case, you won and I lost

Anyone notice a distinct lack of any drops today? I'm on a few of the discord part alerts, even tho catching a 3080 on there is proving impossible even if im adding it to my basket within a few seconds of the mention. Nothing outside of a drop at 3am this morning though.
