3080 is rare as hell tbh, managed to get a rx6800xt which is 200 quid over MSRP from an UK established retailer but this seems to be the norm these days.

no point on Scan atm if you want a 3080. They're still working through the backlog of pre-orders. Some 3070 came out last week, I managed to get one, but 3080 won't be available from Scan for a good few weeks yet.

I was referring to FE cards only.

They just pass on whatever they can without much vetting, so no, just by being posted there it's not more reliable, but look up what their source is and make a call on that. That said, it sounds like nVidia do change around quite a bit so something might have been accurate at the time that has since altered.

Bit weird, but if that's your thing tape it up out the way and careful with your swing so you don't catch youself on any of the metal fins. That'd be parallel paper cuts you wouldn't want.

Yeah so nothing new then? They weren't trustworthy 5 years ago and by the sound of it still not worth their weight now. It's easy to report on rumours when you never have to back it up or get called on it when it's false. Throw mud and see what's sticks. Thanks tho.

Take it easy on the F5 spamming. It looks like you can get an IP ban if you bombard the website with refresh requests.

Some retailers have said 3080 supply is going to be awful for the next while. With the added delays due to Chinese New Year, it might be a while before we get a decent number of 3080s in the UK.

Just to be clear, delays from Chinese New Year would be the 7 days of public holiday from 11 - 17 February 2021. Do I understand that correctly?

yep, not just that but manufacturing tends to ramp down before hand and slowly start to ramp up again after.
best way atm is to say it, walk away and come back in 6 months, maybe a year.

please dont pay scalper prices, it will only fuel the situation and help keep supply to genuine gamers at almost nil and fill the pockets of greedy selfish and immoral scalpers...

It's an awful time to be buying a GPU at the moment. Any GPU at all. New or used. Current gen or previous gen.
