Thread: Are the latest Graphics Cards overkill for most P4s? Look at mine. Opinions?

    If money is a concern get the 6800gt and unlock the hidden pipelines, this will allow you to oc to Ultra speeds or better depending on your cooling. If money isn't a concern get an Ultra.

    6800GT already has 16

    I believe that's true. The GT already has all 16 pipelines unlocked. All that is required is to overclock it a bit to achieve Ultra status. the plain 6800, however only has 12 from what I've read, and you do need to unlock the extra 4.
