TFT to replace my 19" CRT

Have a nice big 19" samtron CRT (with a 15" 2nd'ary), which i love. But recently i've been having eye trouble, and in september im moving to uni.
    - So im looking for a 18" or 19" TFT to fit in the uni room, and help my eyes.
    - Mainly i just surf the web (forums and stuff) and us it for collage work, and a bit of webdesign. But i also play the odd round of Unreal Tournament, and quick blast on NFSu.

My parents are proberble paying for it, becuase they where going to get me a laptop, and there worried about my eyes (bless).

Ive done some digging around, and though i'd see what you guys say.

Also, we have a 17" Hyundai Q17, which im very impressed with.
    - Although when scrolling fast though fourms, it does get a bit messy.

Either of the LGs. Ive used both the 17" versions and they are good monitors.

Dell 2001FP if you can afford it!

I have a ViewSonic VX912B 19inch.. And it's great!.. Sharp clear quality picture, with 12ms response time.. Looks great in games, and on your desk! ..

    Highly recommended.!

I had your exact situation - I had a 19" CRT but I wanted to upgrade. Depending on your budget this is the best time to invest in a TFT.

However I was thinking before buying it, that I want it to be an upgrade I can live with for years, I don't want to have to replace it again anytime soon. So I thought beh something that is so interactive, and one of the most important parts that effect the way you enjoy the computer, you might aswell invest a few more pounds

So I ended up buying the Dell 2005FPW.

    Yeah, same.
    - I've had the 19" for about 5years, and i love it, but it just too big for uni.
    - Also, as its not my budget but my parents, im not sure what the bugject is exactly, but £280's prolly tops.

a 19" tft does not make a *huge* amount of sence - no more pixels than a 17", and more money..
