You have to tell some people everything huh Rys?
From the info available on the new 7000 series, I am personally starting to question whether graphics card manufacturers, and indeed the whole industry is going down the wrong path.
I mean, SLI seems the wrong idea imho.
"We need to make faster graphics cards..."
"I know, lets put 2 in a PC! Problem solved!"
Now surely you should only have to own one of each component. For a number of years, there has been the option to use 2 of a CPu for instance, but that was left to certain areas of the market. By effectively doubling up in the consumer market, it seems somewhat gimmicky, and an act of desperation on their part?
And as for the 7000 series, SLI is bound to be an integral part. It seems companies aren't focussing as much on the advancement of the technology, but more on 'doubling up' to provide that advancement.
(Oh and before I get accused of being biased, ATI are doing exactly the same thing with their CrossFire... But I can't help but feel thats just a measure to counter Nvidia's SLI hype )
