Blimey - when the person goes to check his/her post after a long day of work and its not there? Bit harsh!Originally Posted by iranu

I don't think this needs to be locked/deleted... yet. If it just turns into a flame war, then that's a different matter, but while the discussion remains civilised, I don't think there's anything wrong.
Assuming two identical cards from both nVidia and ATi, I would personally choose ATi. I've used them most recently, and like their drivers. Simple.

At the moment I'm debating between SLI or CrossFire. Think I'm heading towards CrossFire. Saw an advert in Computer Upgrade magazine about the EQS A72K9-CF (www.eqscomputers.com) but can't find anything on the web about it (apart from their home page)
I would go SLI as it has been around longer and has become more mature in drivers etc. crossfire hasn't been officially released yet so unless you are willing to wait then SLI is the way to go.Originally Posted by koocha

I'm willing to wait as I can't afford either yet! It's the enhanced speed in any 3d app that swings it for me I thinkOriginally Posted by unrealuniverse
I'm anticipating that crossfire will be more worthwhile, because of the flexibility. Still, I don't plan on utilizing either. A good single card now will last me till a future single card can best two current highend cards.
I've used both GeForce and Radeon cards and I think the Radeon cards worked out far beter value for the performance. However for multi-monitor setup I found the nvidia software far more flexible. If you are looking for a single gfx card solution, then Radeons should offer better performance for price, but if you want a stable and flexible machine then a small increase in cost may make your system more sustainable. I have to also add that I have never yet had a game incompatibility because of a GeForce card, where some games do not support Radeons at least in their early stages of development.
nvidia all the way at the moment, 6800gt, 7800gt, or 7800gtx! beat ATI all the way
This might be a very late reply for the EQS A72K9-CF CrossFire mobo...it's available in limited quantity since 30-Sept-2005 in UK.Originally Posted by koocha
