MSI 6800GT and ABIT AV8 problems

Hey guys

Major problems with my graphics card guys, just bought it and it will postively not work. When you turn the PC on it basically beeps on number 26 and starts up as normal but my screen wont come on. Ive read through the instruction manual to no avail and I positively cant find out whats up with it? Can you guys here shed any light on it please?

I bought the mobo in february and havent updated the bios yet, obviously as i cant get the display to work Im really confused..

was the PC working before the 6800GT (do you know if it has a Winchester compatible BIOS) & do you have another video card that you can try?
Was the 6800GT working before the NV5 was fitted & after?
All connectors/cables fitted properly?

I have an AV8 as well... and I run a 6800GT too.. The only issues that I ever get was when I overclock my CPU far too high and breaks the AGP lock.. hence no display.. but other than that.. this shoudnt happen.

Have you tried using BIOS version 21? Its supposed to fix some AGP compatibility issues. Also, make sure the 4 pin molex is connected to your card..

Winnies only requires bios rev 17, but I bet they've also solved some other issues once you flash the board.

I had the same problem with My Abit AN8 and an new XFX 6600GT the other day, BIOS update fixed it for me too
