    Smile Mid Range Card Choices...

Hey all, after the kids Leadtek 6600GT packing up and the subsequent 2 month RMA hassle with ohseeyoukay, i'll be getting a refund for it. I can get a brand new Leadtek 6600GT from Scan for £106 but i was wondering if there was any cards in that sort of price range i should be considering?. Whats the XFX 6800XT 'extreme edition' all about?.

i believe the 6800XT is a 6800 with some of the pipes disabled, to slow it to about the same sort of speed as a 6600gt, mabee a bit faster, in your price range ATI have wuite a few cards the x800gt and x800gto are both woth looking at, the gto is a bit faster but a bit more expensive are you on AGP or PCI express?

For that price, a 6600GT is probably the best bet - ATi's X800GT would be an alternative, if only it were on AGP. You could look at an X800 (plain) if you could find one cheap enough.

im looking at a 6800 standard, then unlocking the pipes. Can be had for £180 easily, (thats off Dabs, and they aint the cheapest). Either that or the 6600gt as others have suggested, only with the 6800 you get the top gfx card made by nvidia for AGP boards. And its unlockable/overclockable. Jus my 2p.

i wouldnt go for the 6600gt, id either go for the 6800le in mind to unlock it, or go for the 6800nu as this will get you more power straight out the box.
