    Talking still helpful

Even a year after your original post, this information is still helpful. I was trying to wring a bit more life out of my old machine and bought a BFG 7800GS factory OC card. I was about to buy a new MB, memory, and processor to stop the artifacts , missing textures , warped polygons and overall graphic issues in Battlefield 2 and 2142. I stumbled on this post and as so many others have also done, managed to fix the problem thanks to this information.

Kudos to you for working this out, and sincere thanks for taking the time to post it. For reference, I have a SiS 645 chipset on my mobo.

Have you tried ALL the different things I suggested including visiting the other sites with possible suggestions?

    What symptoms are you experiencing?

    (BTW, I can't help directly, as I no-longer have a 6600GT card).

cant believe this thread has been so helpful even until now..

We shouldve stickied it at least for a couple of months when it started.. Though now its a little late with the 6600GT getting so old, with AGP on SIS getting even older..
    Me want Ultrabook

Re: Geforce 6600GT AGP problems? Try this...

Good thread. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I have 6600 agp card as well. My psu is seasonic 330 psu. whilst i don't game i did notice if i switch out of account and log back in later it is just so slow or freezes or takes forever loading. I thought it might be hard drive initially as i had only a few gig spare on windows drive. I've read some saying need higher psu, in other parts that you cannot get after market cooling for xfx agp 6600, because of the way it's designed. which is a bugger because its loudest noise coming out of case atm.

Re: Geforce 6600GT AGP problems? Try this...

    Finally!!!
You are my new hero, dude!
I had this card for some time now (7600 GT) and when I recently upgraded my MB it started showing those polygon lines stretching forever. And when I turned of that Combined write stuff it improved 99%.
Still having some troubles but I'm kinda certain it's because the MB is faulty and plus that it doesnt support the memory modules. Wrong voltage and cant up it to the right voltage. To all folks that are thinking about buying new MB. Double check what memory you are buying or have. The new AM2 MB's are cranky about memory I read in other forums.
    Nice work dude!

P.S. Cool that this post has lasted 2 years and still helps ppl^^ Good work dude!
