I'd disgree, i'd say go 9800 SE AIW. Good chance of getting almost 9800 pro perf from it. Plus you've got the added benefits of the AIW stuffs.

*NEW* 128Mb Hercules ATI Radeon 9800SE All In Wonder ViVo Tv Tuner Tv/DVI for £160 at scan.

Is the only place i've found at present, personally i'd be happy to take the risk.

The 9700PRO will give perf as good as a modded 9800SE->9800PRO so would seem the much better option considering it's cheaper. How much do you need AIW, perhaps a seperate PCI TV card (digital?) would be a better and more flexible choice. There's mixed info about moddability of 9800SE, you certainly need the 256bit 380/340 version (it seems all 9800SE_AIW are) but even then your chances could be as high as 50% or more likely closer to 5-10%.

Now perf of the 9800SE (256bitDDR 380/340) is as good as a 9600XT but that is way slower than a 9700PRO and 9800SE aren't going to o/c much at all whereas 9700PRO tend to have at least 10% extra on the core (bringing them to 9800PRO perf). 9600XT/PRO are the other option and they use the newest implimentation of AIW too. It save you some cash and takes away the gambling element of the 9800SE option as although you'll never attain 9700/9800PRO perf you will almost certainly get a good 20%+ o/c. SO it depends on your prefs, reqs and how willing you are to gamble ...

    1. 9600PRO (inc AIW) - Cheap and o/c's VERY well.
    2. 9600XT (inc AIW?) - Pretty cheap with intelligent design, o/c's well.
    3. 9700PRO - As good as a 9800 and as good as 9800PRO when o/c'ed.
    4. 9800SE (256_380/340 AIW) - Little more pricey than the others, no o/c'ing but a chance to enable 9800PRO perf.

BTW. You can get a real 9800PRO for £220 so a 9800SE_AIW with softmod still isn't really worth it for £200.

    Hello

Speaking from experience I recently brought 2 video cards of fellow users at tekforums ( only just started here )

I would personally get a 9700 pro if u can unless u really want the digital TV on your Graphics Card !

I never have time to use the TV and if I wanted to use the TV I would not be using the PC !

I recently upgraded from a 9700 to a 9800 Pro and to be honest theres not that much difference.

I just couldnt resist at £185 for the Pro though !

AFAIK you can't get digital TV (30 channels through your aerial) with any onboard TV tuner inc AIW. That would be a benefit to getting a 9700PRO (etc) and getting a seperate PCI TV tuner. Direct links to Komplett don't seem to work but simply type '9800 PRO' in to the search box. It is Powercolor which are generally best avoided but for high end cards there should be no corners cut. At the mo it's OOS for 10 days. You can always get a 9800 which should easily yield 9800PRO speeds when o/c'ed, they're around £200-210 from almost any online store.
