But the XTX will overclock futher. Has 1.1ns ram for sure and will use better quality mosfets, etc.

I have one of these, but I'm having problems getting it to work, maybe a duff card. Don't regret getting it though, I'll buy another one if I need to.

As far as I am aware, all the X1900XT's now come with the slower RAM as opposed to the 1.1 stuff the XTX uses. The first batch of XT's used the same 1.1 RAM however.

It's true you could save some cash, buy an XT and clock it up to XTX speeds, but then you could push your XTX too - remember, overclocks are never guaranteed though.

Just got an a gigabyte X1900XT from Microdirect for £260. Luckily it has 1.1ns ram so sitting nicely at 700/860 with a bit of extra voltage. It also flashed to XTX without any problems so i'm happy.

If you have a look here there doesn't seem to be a massive amount of difference in the overclocks from an XT to XTX

I decided to go for the XT not the XTX because the XTX is only a little bit faster and you can flash it to a XTX. Its sitting on my desk at work waiting to be taken home to go with my new 24 inch Dell TFT. I alos brought the VF900-Cu cooler for it so i shall be over clocking it me thinks.

If you go Crossfire later the Master card will downclock an XTX to XT anyway afaik.
Nah, in Crossfire they run at their own individual speeds.

    Guys, never go for Sapphire!!!
Sapphire cards have good quality but not really much better than others. If you have problem and want a replacement or repair, god bless you! They never pick up the phone or answer the emails. I had a defective X1800XT and have waited for 2 months, no responses at all! Very horrible experience! Just stay away from them!

I would assume you should handle RMA from the retailer.. and not Sapphire itself.. Most card manufacturers don't have the budget to run a state-of-the-art end-user service, especially Asian distributors.. Most of their operations are B2B, unless on certain courtesy they'll answer your deeds. And I dont think you can actually BUY cards from them directly, so the responsibility lies with the retailer, and they are supposed to handle the replacement for you...

Almost all of the top retailers are here in Hexus and are all really helpful, give them a PM and they'll handle your problem accordingly... I reckon you just chose a difficult way of doing things..

    Me want Ultrabook
