    dual monitors on an x800xt

at the moment i have an x800xt (agp) running a viewsonic vx912 on dvi, i would like to buy another vx912 and run them in a dual set-up, however the x800xt has one dvi and one vga socket. I know it is possible to have a dual monitor set up by getting a vga-dvi adaptor, however my question is i seem to only be able to find dvi to vga adaptors, so will running the monitors on vga be much worse quality than if i could run them on dvi? any advice, agp-dvi adaptors found or the like please tell, thanks

EDIT: ok i have found some vga to dvi adaptors but they have only served to confuse me more as it seems you can get dvi digital and analogue? please help

Hi mate. I have an X800XT and run 2 monitors both VGA which both work fine. (20 inch Flatscreen CRT @ 2148*1536 and a 19 inch LCD @1280*1024). I use the CRT for games.

As far as I know you can only convert DVI to VGA and not the other way round. To be honest I cant tell the difference in picture quality.

Yeah, I think you'll have to connect one of those viewsonic via VGA. Shouldn't notice much difference in quality. Just use the DVI connected one as the primary monitor.

I have a similar setup to Kef9, a 19" CRT as my primary and a 19" LCD as a secondary monitor.

Just make sure you get UltraMon, great piece of software for multiple monitors.

Yep that should work. Just make sure you can connect to the vx912 via VGA.
