    Question Bliss 7800GS+

Has anyone got any experience with the Gainward Bliss 7800GS+ (7900GT core), I can't seem to find too many reviews out there, just wondering what kind of performance increase I'd be looking at from my 6800nu. Should i just be looking at 7900GT benches? Would I be heavily CPU limited with my A64 3000+?

    cheers guys

It would be fairly limited in most games with a 3000+, unless your CPU was heavily overclocked. It does depend on the game however - a simpler game with rubbish AI but complex visually would work well, but i cant think of any specific games.
That all said, you would certainly see a benefit in the upgrade.

The other obvious option to consider is changing your whole system.
The bliss 7800 AGP costs £276.
The 7900GT (PCI-Express) is nearly £100 less which in itself would pay for a new motherboard to accomodate it.
It depends whether or not you want the hassle of upgrading & re-installing etc but more ready for the future, verses the cost but easier option of the AGP system.

Edit: Just looked at your 'My System' and realised you are on a Socket 754.
Scan today have a rediculous deal on a Socket 939 Athlon 64 3200+ for £65. Very tempting for someone who may be looking to get a 939-based system If you sell your motherboard and CPU, that'll go a long way towards a new motherboard and CPU then bingo you have PCI-Express!

I'm commenting on an internet forum. Your facts hold no sway over me.

I think you could be right! Seems stupid to spend £250 on a AGP graphics card, when for 100 quid more I can get a s939 mobo and a 3700+ san diego, and a 7900GT, which should be very quick, and slightly more future proof! (Removed the question about AM2 after realising Id have to change to DDR2 which would be MORE expense!!)

    cheers!
