Video From PC to TV via Scart?

    Hello,

Right I have lots of downloaded TV programmes that I want to watch on my TV that is pretty close to my PC. The main advantage is of course the correct TV resolution and a bigger screen size. Now I'd prefer to do this via Scart if it's easy enough to do, mainly as I don't want cables hanging out the front of the TV as they will of course be in the way.

I recently spotted some PC to TV Scart cable kits, using S-Video on eBay, so what I'm wondering is who has experience with these? Do they work? Easy to setup?

Not sure if I'm allowed to post eBay links, but as it's just to show what I'm on about I can't see it hurting. If anyone knows differently, please let me know and I'll remove the link:

My Graphics card is pretty standard, Connect 3D X1800XT with the usual S-Video type connector. I assume it would be just a case of plugging it all in to get it to work? Any potential problems I should look out for?

Any advice or suggestions before I make a purchase would be a great help.

    Thanks,

    Mark

You should be ok with watching TV with that. Some graphics cards can be a pain to setup so it's worth experimenting with different settings first (I usually use Nvidia cards so don't know much about the ATI control settings). You're likely to be very disapointed with a computer screen type view through that cable but TV should be ok.

i bought one of those and i could not get my tv to work in colour with it so i looked around the net and found out lots of people have the same problem!

so i bought another s-video to scart lead that gauranteed it would be in colour and even though it was in colour there was a hell of a lot of colour bleed!

at this point i was ready to give up trying but i came across this and after reading all the testomonials it sounded like it might just work!

so i got one and the picture on my tv is now perfect! i know its a little extra money but its deffo worth it!

Yeah it's just for watching downloaded TV, I understand that the low resolution of a standard non-HD TV will make any desktop look awful.

Thanks very much for the input, it does appear to be a common problem from what I researched after you brought it up.

Either way I'll have a look into the product you recommend, thanks!
