Why is everyone hell bent on getting one. We know nothng of there performance.

Wait and see what there like in DX9 current titles. If there not a decent improvement, there a waste of time, Vista isn't out till next year, and DX10 games after that.

Worse, it's apparently going to be CPU limited (even on quad) so we might not know it's true performance for a while yet..

Thats until we play at a collosal res of 2560x1600.. which I think would still be GPU limited on most newer titles, that perhaps the proper resolution to see its performance..

This is the way with new tech, skim the market with a high price at launch.

I dont think I'd want one of these first gen monsters anyway, surely they will producing some less power hungry, more powerful and cheaper cards by mid 2007.

My biggest concern is whether it'll actually fit in my case anyway - at 28cm long I'm not sure it will!

I *might* order one tonight if my case will take it..

Then again, if the wife gets wind of it I might be sleeping in the shed (again).

That's fine. You can look at it from 2 viewpoints then.

    1) the temperature should allow for some mean overclocks

    2) that card will heat the shed up to normal indoor temps
