Question Inno3d

Ok so i was pounced upon for replying in an old thread. You get bitched at by people for not searching.... and then you do a search and find 1 suitable thread and you reply in it and you still get bitched at.... Can't win I suppose.

And unlike the others who replied to the thread and failed to notice the date, and then blamed it on me.... I DID notice the date and it doesn't matter. Because my question is as valid today as it was 3 years ago, and was valid to the thread I posted in. So in the future, if people are encouraged to search for a thread that already exists before starting a new one, then just lock old threads to protect people from making pointless comments in them (and then blaming it on me). So here I am starting a whole new thread to ask the question anyway.

My question is, "How good are Inno3d graphics cards"?

Im not looking for an answer like, "They suck", because i've already read that on this, and other forums, and it doesn't help at all. What im interested in, are reports from people who have bought one only for it to die either soon, or shortly after its 1 year warranty wore out.

I ask because I can buy an Inno3d 8800GTS for £250 which is an absolute bargain. So if the brand is ok, then i'll buy it. If its likely to run much hotter than other brands, or burn out 2 weeks after the 1 year warranty expires... then I would be better to spend the extra £50 or so, to buy a different brand.

So any Inno3d advice anyone can give me will be really helpful.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks! Thats good to know. I think if its reliable, and it lasts 2-3 years thats good enough for me. Because after about 3 years, i could justify just upgrading it anyway.

As for being pounced on, i'll bounce back My therapist just upped my valium in the meantime.

    p.s.

If anyone else has experience with an Inno3d card, please let me know about it! And if anyone happens to already have an Inno3d 8800GTS/X, that would be great to hear about.

No experience with an 8800 yet, but I have installed Inno3D cards (sold as DabsValue) in a few machines and they've been absolutely fine. They're pretty much bog-standard reference cards, with reference cooling solutions, so they won't clock madly, but they do very nicely and I think are excellent value.

I don't have any direct experience but I know a friend who's used one and had no problems with it. I'd say that all the 8800 gts's are exactly the same in design and probably component wise as well, obviously some companies will have first choice over the cores. £250 sounds like an absolute bargain though, if I could find one that cheap it would definitely tempt me.

Thank you everyone, thats great news!

And yes, they are all evidently the exact same as the reference card. None of them (no matter what brand) are clocked any differently. The only difference seems to be the fan they fit to the card, and any software they add.

So i think it should be safe. I just need to make sure they didn't stick a crappy fan on it, but i dont think that will be the case. And i dont plan on overclocking it anyway, so it should be ok

And yeah £250 is nice! Scan has the ASUS version for £300 odd. So im tempted to spend just £50 more to get a better brand and i think they throw in a game too. But i dont really care about the game, and even £50 is worth saving. It could go towards a better motherboard, better case, better RAM, or even a better CPU.

Thanks anyway, im starting to feel very tempted now Even £250 is way more than i wanted to pay I was originally just going to get a 7950GT for about £150, so this is over my budget. But £100 extra for a card that much faster and DX10 capability.. just seems like a decent deal worth considering.

    Thanks.

I have a Inno3D 7800GT, I have been running it for a long time now, no problems and the performance is better than most 7800GT cards.

Go for it, if you got the 7950 you'd just regret not spending the extra.

    Hi,

Just got a INNO3D 8800 GTX FOR £399, will let you know if any probs.

Cant get 3d mark06 to give me a reasonable score but otherwise the card and bundle are excellent.

Thank you easyshas I will really appreciate to know how it goes. I was just reading your other thread infact. Im keen to know how it runs games at a decent resolution etc. It would also be good to know how hot the card gets when its being used in a game, and if its noisy or anything.

    Dear Acrobat,

The card is running fantastic, very quiet and the frame rate in FEAR with all settings maxed/on and AAX8 and AFX16 AT 1680 X 1050 NEVER DROPS BELOW 30FPS AVERAGING 77FPS!

tHIS CARD CAN OBVIOUSLY GO MOREi JUST NEED TO UPGRADE THE CPU TO MATCH MY dELL2407 COMING IN THE POST.

Should have mentioned, no heat issues as yet.

Make sure you have enough room in your case, Ihave an Antec p180 which I thought would easily accomodate this monster but it was a very snug fit requiring me to BEND one of my Hard Drive rails to get it in!
