I am unable to run Medieval 2 as my card does not support pixel shading 1.1 or higher. My motherboard supports AGP 4x - am I able to install an 8x card or would I be wasting my money ?
Thanks

Yep, you can.
Just means the card will run at 4X speed.
You'll need a Geforce 4 or above (NOT MX), or a Radeon 9000 series or above to support pixel shading (at least 1.1). The more "above" the better - for AGP, prob aim for a Geforce 6 series (or maybe 7300), or Radeon X1300?
See ya!
go for the 7600 if your happy to spend a little extra cash - it handles med 2 very well
Thanks for the responses. Hope you don't mind but I have a couple of further questions.
1) Will the 7600 at 4x be OK with med 2?
2) I only have a 250w PSU - will I need to upgrade this for a 7600? If not will a 250w PSU be OK for a 6 series or 7300 ?
If you need a new AGP card that may I suggest that you get this one Sapphire X1950 Pro 512

I have read on the OcUk forum that there is a 8800 agp card coming I think it's a 8600 or some thing like that.
Thanks for reply but it costs quite a bit more than wanting to spend. 7600 is in my price range but not sure my psu is up to it as only 250w ?
Hi,
Hmmmmm....doubtful. The card itself consumes less than 75W (just uses what is supplied by the slot, doesn't need external power), but it depends on the rest of your system - CPU, optical drives, hard drives etc. as these will all draw from your 250W PSU. At a guess I'd reccommend you have at least a 350W for those types of card.....
You can work out your requirements on one of the many on-line PSU calculators, like ths one:
