Me and Deckard nearly DIED when we visited the local PC ardware dude for an upgrade on my Pentium 100 (going from 16mb to 32mb and 1mb PCI card to a 2mb Trio card

) and we saw the blokes partner playing a new Starwars game on a "3dFX Diamond Monster"

We ordered one EACH...they were big dough back then.....way over £100 each......

Oh to see Quake with the Open GL / Glide wrapper installed.

I still have 2x Creative V2's (12mb) and a V3 3000 here. I don’t think there ever be used again, but there worth keeping hold of just for the memories attached to them.

why the hell did it go for that much?!! i know its rare but compare to new stuff it aint that great is it!? some people have too much spare cash! hehe

Heheh - I remember when a M8 of mine was raving about this new thing called Antialiasing which made older games look better by smoothing the jaggies, and it was something just 3DFX had designed ... just think if they'd released it before NVIDIA bought them out!

Well it does run both BF1942, and MOHAA. Dont know if it the drivers maybe.....i can run AA on single chip!

o yeah...hehe

yeah both mohha and bf are completly find. It prolly gets about 25+fps in each in vice city things go see through, and you cant see the time/only 3 cop stars.

Just won my first 3d accelerator on Ebay... I had one when they came out now I have another 3.80 (wish it was this cheap when they were launched!)

S/W T&L is dependant on the CPU. It probably isnt THAT slow on a 3.06 HT P4.

I have a righteous 3d. And they can do D3d, just d3d up to d3d6 in hardware. They can use the drivers to emulate t&l (well the V3 onwards can).

I don't see why they couldn't play anything out now.

Somewhat pointless if you actually were running it on that sort of a system though
