    repairing windows

    ive just made a daul boot with windows xp and vista all went well apart from when i tried to boot xp it gave me an error when booting ntldr is missing or currupt, ive tried repairing windows with the xp disk but it just gives me aload of commands but i dont no what command to put in, can some body help me out please

    also does any one no a good site or tutorial to explain how to flash bios for a asus p5vdc-mx ive downloaded the lastest bios but it gives me a bin file and all the other sites ive been on say i should have a ultilites file, read me and some thing else cant quite remember

    Boot from your XP CD and run the recovery console (good description of features and command list etc at support.microsoft.com/kb/314058). You can copy over the default ntldr file from your XP CD (inside i386 folder if I recall correctly) to the root of your hard drive. Reboot and all should be well.

    be very carefull, Vista uses a completely different boot environment, using recovery on XP will most likely kill the vista install

    True - if both XP and Vista are on the same drive, then XP recovery could cause issues.

    im just going to delete all the xp files because i dont seem to be able to find the i386 folder

    You need to install XP and then install Vista, it won't work the other way round.
