If you havnmt already consult the manual as hat will be the best place to find out how as the removal of the I/O should DEFINETLY be there.

as for the raisers, they are little cylender looking things that go onto the inside of the case so that the MOBO isnt touching the side of the case = shorts.

Line them up with the holes on the motherboad and make sure there are no others on there as they will be touching mobo which will give shorts

Pics could help us help you alot easier

dont switch it on unless the motherboard is raised from the case otherwise the case will cause a connection between the componants on the underside of the motherboard and short the board out possibly ruining it forever.

yeah pushed it out in the end with a bit of a struggle, put the motherboard, processor and ram in and booted it up every thing works ok just need to get a dvd drive and a hard drive now. but there 1 was thing i dont get is the usb slots on the front of the case, ive read the motherboard manual and it gives me what cables go where but the cables dont say the same label as on the wire if you get what i mean

well in the manual it says
    pin 1-usbpwr-front panel usb power
pin 2- usbpwr- front panel usb power
pin 3-usb_fp_p0 (-)- usb port 0 negative signalpin
pin-4-usb_fp_p1 (-)-usb port 1 negative signal
pin 5-usb_fp_p0(+)-usb port 0 positive signal
pin 6-usb_fp_p1(+)-usb port 1 positive signal
    pin 7-gnd-ground
    pin 8-gnd-ground
    pin 9-key-no pin
    pin 10-usb_fp_oc0-overcurrnt signal

then in the case its got 2 sets of wires with a grey casing around and they say
    1st wire-gnd
    vcc1
    data1 -
    data1+

    2nd wire-gnd2
    vcc1
    data2-
    data2+

to be honest when i look at it now its look quite obvious that the 1st wire with goes into the appropiate pins in usb3 and the 2nd wire goes into the approiate pins in usb4

also struggling on the front audio panel in the manual its got
pin 1 -audio_mic-front panel mirophone input signal
pin 2-aud_gnd- ground used by analog audio circuits
    pin 3-aud_mic_bias-microphone power
pin 4-aud_vcc-filtered +5v used by analog audio circuits
pin 5-aud_f_r-right channel audio signal to front panel
pin 6-aud_ret_r -right chennel signal to return from front panel
    pin 7-revd-reserved
    pin 8-key-no pin
pin 9-audo_f_l-left channel audio signal to front panel
pin 10-aud_ret_l-left channel audio signal to return from front panel

and in the case its got
    mic power(L)
    mic in (R) and gnd(on 1 wire)
line out rl and line out fl(on 1 wire)
line out fr and line out rr(on 1 wire)

sorry but ive tried to explain to the fullest i can i aint the best at english to sorry if its hard to understand

another thing is on my main pc that i use ive just got the bios update for my motherboard that enables vista to detect pci cards so i flashed my bios and install the network card but it says that there isnt enough resources for it to work properly, what can i disable to let it work?

    1ST USB PORT

pin 1-usbpwr-front panel usb power [vcc1]
    pin 3-usb_fp_p0 (-)- usb port 0 negative signalpin [data1 -]
    pin 5-usb_fp_p0(+)-usb port 0 positive signal [data1 +]
    pin 7-gnd-ground [gnd]

    2ND USB PORT

pin 2- usbpwr- front panel usb power [vcc2]
    pin-4-usb_fp_p1 (-)-usb port 1 negative signal [data2 -]
    pin 6-usb_fp_p1(+)-usb port 1 positive signal [data2 +]
    pin 8-gnd-ground [gnd2]

    IGNORE

    pin 9-key-no pin
    pin 10-usb_fp_oc0-overcurrnt signal

as you said it is pretty obvious once u get ur head round all the acronyms
i think this is how the front panel should be wired but its hard to tell without it infront of me

    mic in (R) and gnd(on 1 wire)
    put on
pin 1 -audio_mic-front panel mirophone input signal
pin 2-aud_gnd- ground used by analog audio circuits

    mic power(L)
    put on
pin 3-aud_mic_bias-microphone power (or maybe pin 4-aud_vcc-filtered +5v used by analog audio circuits im not completely sure)

I don’t think you have any line out pins so ignore this
line out fr and line out rr(on 1 wire)

line out fr and line out rr(on 1 wire)
    put on
pin 5-aud_f_r-right channel audio signal to front panel
    &
pin 6-aud_ret_r -right chennel signal to return from front panel

line out rl and line out fl(on 1 wire)
    put on
pin 9-audo_f_l-left channel audio signal to front panel
    &
pin 10-aud_ret_l-left channel audio signal to return from front panel

Not sure abou tthe bios thing sounds like a driver issue rather than their not actually being enough resources. what spec is the PC?

hello just got a hard drive and dvd drive installed windows every thing boots up and runs fine apart from the usb slots on the front and the audio on the front. i did every thing as u said apart from on the usb there was no pin 10 but there was another usb pin thingy(cant really explain it) called usb 3 and usb 4 so i did exactly the same on that one as i did on usb3 but when i put my memory stick in nothing happens. on the audio on the front it cuts out the sound from the speakers but doesnt come through the head phones.

ie just redone both usb and audio. the good news is the audio is now working but the bads news is the usb still isnt. however once i redone the usb it came up once i turned the tower on installing usb interface does this mean the usb ports on the front? does it matter what which set of wires i connect to the set of pins as there usb3 and usb4.
