i bought a very cheap keyboard / mouse / speaker set from san, but the thing that im confused over is that the speakers have a wierd power cable,

does one end go into the speakers and the other into an aux power out on the PC's psu or is it not exactly the same as a PSU power cable?

I think its designed to be put inline between the wall socket and power supply.

    ie wall socket>powercable>this thing>PSU
