Would appreciate help with a new build..

Hiya..new to the forum and was looking for a bit of advice.
I'm looking to build my first pc and am looking to spend about £500 on all the components (minus the monitor).
I was thinking of the following:

Antec Sonata III (£64 using GC of ebuyer)

Asus P5b (£55ish of ebuyer using GC) <----would apprecite help in this dept.

    Intel Core2Duo E6600 (£144 of ebuyer)

    2 x 1gb ram corsair ddr2 800mhz (£65 of ebuyer)

    WD 250gb 16mbcache sata 2 hd (£33 of ebuyer)

samsung sata DVD Writer £20 of ebuyer

With regards to the gfx card...i really don't know...i'm not a pc gamer at the moment but want to try some games on this pc so would like a decent card.

Any advice on a decent monitor, 19" or so would also be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Abdul.

Personally I would get a 4300 instead and clock it up to
3 GHz. Then spend what you save on getting nice Heat sink
and fan maybe the samsung HD501LJ or spending more on the GPU.

I've ordered the asus p5b deluxe along with the antec sonata III case. my only concern is that for the graphics card, i'm looking at the X1950XT, and was not sure whether it would fit and still leave room for 2 hard drives.

any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
