I have an apple macbook, but with only 60 gb hard drive. I want to u buy a bigger hard drive, but i was wondering if there is any way to transfere all the data from my old hardrive and not have to install the operating system again.

You'll need to buy new drive, get appropriate sata/ide to USB convertor, connect new drive to USB port, fire up drive imaging software, image drive, remove unwanted drive from laptop, install new drive, boot laptop ......
