Hi
I have set up many home networks and would consider myself to be fairly competent at it, however i have hit upon a new problem.
I have actually managed to get my main Vista machine networked with 2 XP laptops (without running into many of the problems i have read about in other threads), however when it comes to connecting the laptops to a printer attached to my Vista machine im stumped.
The problem i have encountered is that the Vista machine only holds vista drivers. So when i try to connect to it, and it is visible to all computers, i get a mesage saying that windows cant find the drivers.
There is then the option to browse for drivers but i have gone through the driver CD and the driver download from the internet, and nothing seems to work.
1) Has anyone had a similar problem, and know a solution?
2) If i install the printer on one XP machine then connect to it on the network is there a way to obtain these driver files to use when the Vista machine connects? (i hope that makes sense)
The printer is an HP Deskjet 3845
Any help is much appreciated.
