    Tabbed browsing in IE

I've recently gone back to IE after suffering problems with Firefox crashing when dealing with very large image folders. IE seems to be doing well, but despite selecting what I thought were the right options, new links are opened in new windows, rather than tabs in the existing window.

Can anyone suggest the obvious option I'm missing?

Go to the Internet options and in the the first tab (general) at the bottom there is a tab section and a button that opens "settings"

then the options are there and are pretty self explanatory, but set the middle section "when a pop-up is encountered" to always open pop-ups in a new tab" and the bottom one "open links from other programs" to "A new tab in the current window"

there are a few other things that you can tweak to what you want

    hope it helps.

    edit:

    try like this:

Probably pointless bumping this thread but you might want to try out Opera, I know it's probably kind of pointless as I've heard the new IE is pretty good, but I still refuse to use it.

But it's a pretty solid browser and I find it meets my needs more than firefox in certain situations (:
