BTW inside bios menu, what is "NVIDIA GPU Ex" set at? AUTO or Disabled? Have you tried both settings?

i think it has to be a hardware problem; sometimes it freezes even without the nv4 infinite loop and also freezes in the desktop without playing games.

maybe the power suppy or the graphic card or the motherboard..... ??¿?=¿??¿

thank you for the help man

It seems quite large number of people are having same problem as you. And I noticed most of those unfortunate people are on asus mobo. Is this just a coinsidence? I'm beginning to suspect the soundcard that comes with mobo. Can you just remove it and test your pc again?

i actually have an x-fi sound card so i have removed the onboard card since i bought my pc. it used to work good like this.

i thought maybe the x-fi was causing the problem, but it was the same without it.

im also in a big forum about my p5n32-e si card for help, and they dont have my problem.....

    its so anoying man...

Hmm... that's out then. BTW do you have a desktop fan? If you have one can you point it directly at your graphic card and test your system? To be frank with you I still think it's either your card memory or VRM overheating as you said your problem went away as you underclocked your card. I have no idea as to why it worked well before and started acting up weird all of a sudden but that's all I can come up with. Probably it needs sometime for the heat to build up inside your case before this glitch to be triggered and that's probably why you tend to get this after you leave your pc on overnight? I don't know....but I can imagine your big dissapointment and I feel sorry about that.

the thing is that i will have live with that; i might have to save games very often for crashes and get anoyed by computer-freeze....

it can be so many things..... heat, power suppy, graphic card, mother board,....

what i know is that its not the nv4_displ infinite loop as i thought; it crashed also in the desktop withou games so....

and its much more provable that crashes when i have the computer on for some time, like during the night (but it crashes after 3-5 minutes that i turn on the screen and i check an email...); so maybe the power suplly or heat or...... i checked most of the components temperature and no problems. i dont know how to check the memories temp in the graphic card or the power supply??

Wow that sounds really frustrating. Where did you get your stuffs from btw? They are farely new aren't they? Can't you just explain your problem to the shop/retailer and get things replaced? You must have paid a lot of money for it so you should at least have a system that does what it should. You can't check exact temperature of the card's onboard memory unless you have some sort of thermometer atached to it I guess. But if your system runs more stable with desktop fan blowing at it, then you know something is overheating...and you already know your mobo chipset, cpu, gpu temps are within normal range so it's likely problem with your card memory. I haven't heard much about overheating PSU but GameXstream PSU have a big fan which seem to do a good job cooling components inside(I have 600W verison) so I don't think that's the case. If your problem still persists with desktop fan, I'll probably suspect PSU as a culprit though.

I had something similar - was getting various errors - the one you get being one of them.
Turned out to be the PSU - the 3.3v connector had burned out and got very hot to the touch.
I managed to save it as the mobo hadn't been damaged - just cleaned the connectors and made sure there was a tight fit - now working 100% ok!

    Eye popping good!
