Exclamation Video problems after I got my new Motherboard

I recently changed my old MSI motherboard whose chipset was SIS to a new Intel 865GV-M3 mother board by ECS, this was due to the fact that the MSI board failed me. Anyway, after I installed the new mother board and installed windows, started installing drivers for the on board C media audio device and my Geforce 6200 AGP 8x graphic card, every thing was fine, but one thing was not, whenever I open a video using media player, Bs player or VLC the computer becomes very sluggish, no video seen just a sound that comes and goes and the computer becomes really sluggish, I mean I actually see the windows draw before my eyes when I press Alt+Ctrl+Del, I see the frames draw then the words written very slowly and then it all ends after a long wait when I force VLC or whatever player I am using when I force it to close. I tried installing the latest video driver from nvidia but the same thing happened, rolled back to the old driver, still the same problem, uninstalled then reinstalled the audio driver, and downloaded a newer driver, still the same thing. Then I removed my 6200 and used the on board Intel graphic card instead and guess what, it worked like a charm, videos streaming and every thing nothing wrong at all except for the fact that I cant play games on this on board graphic card. So this is my problem I need to use my 6200 and I simply cant.
Some stuff I noticed that may help figuring this out:
1-The videos worked fine before I installed service pack 2, using windows XP home edition
2- When the 6200 is installed PC Linux OS live CD wont start, but with the on board card it starts fine
3- Of coarse with the old motherboard using the same OS and service pack 2 and the same driver videos worked fine

Thank you in advance for reading and hopefully you can help

Have you installed motherboard/AGP chipset drivers?

    What do you mean???
If you mean the driver for the card, yes I did install it, other than that on the motherboard's included CD no such thing as AGP chipset driver

Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver (exe) (5166KB)
    14.17 9/28/2005 Download
Installs drivers for the integrated graphics controller of Intel® chipsets. This is not to be used if the system has a third party graphics card.
I have this already as I said before I am currently working with the on board graphic card, what I want is to make my geforce 6200 to work

It sounds like you are using the same old hard disk with the same Windows installation on it. As you are using a new motherboard with a different chipset, the chances of this working without any problems or issues are slim to nil. I think you can see this for yourself first-hand.

Re-install Windows and it should remedy your problems. You can do a repair install which will negate the need for you to back everything up first.

Yes I know - I'm saying you should install the AGP driver, not the intergrated graphics chip driver. The AGP driver is part of the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility.

Is this the board you're on about?
    http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Pro...uID=45&LanID=8

    so questions:
Have you turned off the onboard graphics in the BIOS?
Installed the latest motherboard chipset drivers? (like Kalniel said the Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility)
Is this a new install of windows or not?

First of all thank you all for your replies

    In answer for your questions:
    1-
Have you turned off the onboard graphics in the BIOS?
As a matter of fact I didn't because there is no such thing in my BIOS that lets me disable the on board VGA, I have options to disable on board network, audio, modem, and nothing about VGA I can however change the shared memory and choose the primary graphic card which I eagerly chose -since the very beginning- to be AGPro instead of OnBoard VGA, there is another choice PCI Bus, may be I will try that later.

    2-
Installed the latest motherboard chipset drivers? (like Kalniel said the Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility)
I did install it from the included motherboard CD, but to make sure I went to Intel website, downloaded the latest compatible with my chipset and installed it, but still I have the same problem.

    3-
Is this a new install of windows or not?
Yes it is a fresh windows installation, as a matter of fact this is the second installation in my pursuit of graphic card functionality.

I hope I have answered all you questions, I cant thank you enough for your help and hopefully you will reply soon

Actually reading back I think I've come across this before, is this problem occureing when you try to watch dvd's of any video files?
I think it could be the codex's / video encodeing which could of been messed up by sp2.

but you also say it's not working on linux which is throwing me slightly (I've no real experence with linux)

It is not working with games too, older games are fine like COD2 and Mafia, but FEAR, the computer restarted after the loading was over and the game was starting. Besides it cant be codecs because I am using vlc and used all different types of codecs.
I should say however that I contacted ECS recently and told them about my problem and here is what they said:

Due to the AGP slot on 865GV-M3 is AGP Express, so there are some limit on AGP card, so we suggest you use the AGP card which have approved by us.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.
    BR,
    Support_TPE
They have this list in the manual and guess what, my card is not listed
