    getting media center to pick up tv card

    After virus infection I've had to reinstall windowsXP pro MCE but media center refuses to recognise Hauppauge 1300 tv card.Have installed all drivers and software for tv card plus Cyberlink power DVD for mpeg encoder.

    Any help please

    The rather useless Hauppauge site indicates there are 2 Hauppauge 1300s, a WinTV-HVR-1300 and a WinTV-HVR-1300 MCE-Kit. I assume the only difference is that the latter comes with a remote, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the former only works with Hauppauge's own software and they don't provide BDA drivers (the drivers needed by Media Center).

    Still, try these drivers from Hauppauge's own site, and see if it helps. There's also a step-by-step guide on using them.

    Sorry if I'm repeating the obvious to you, but the Media Center world can be rather vague at times.
