Frozen HP screen on boot (no POST)

    Hey all,

A flatmates PC that is some HP desktop decided to break earlier today and im not 100% sure what it might be or if its fixable, My initial thought was that its probably the Chipset is buggered or something else on the motherboard is or it could be that theres a power issue or Possibly RAM?

After powering on there is no POST screen at all, it just jumps to a blue screen with a HP logo and a C2D V//V logo on the side and hangs. it remains on this screen and is completely frozen, you can see the shortcuts along the bottom such as BIOS etc but pressing the jeys on the keyboard does absolutely nothing, and i have tried 2 keyboards (PS/2 & USB)

    any thoughts?

    cheers, tiger

Re: Frozen HP screen on boot (no POST)

sorted, draining power fully and then resetting worked, must have been a power surge or something similar...
