    Surround Sound Subwoofer Help

    hi, im having some trouble with (5.1) surround sound. the subwoofer doesnt work, unless i put the cable for the subwoofer into the hole which is for the speakers. the sound card is x-fi extreme gamer, i dont see why there should be a problem :S

    It sounds like the channels for the subwoofer and the centre speaker have been swapped. It happens with some speaker/soundcard combinations. I've seen it happen before with an onboard nvidea soundcard. Are you using the provided drivers? There should be an option to correct this in the speaker control panel (although I don't have one of these cards so I'm not sure).

    i downloaded the drivers from the creative site, although i downloaded the drivers for the x-fi fatality soundcard, instead of my one, extreme gamer. they dont have my driver listed, ill try installing the drivers which came with the soundcard now.
