Why is ddr so much more expensive than ddr2?

    As title really.

Any ideas why ddr2 is so much cheaper than ddr memory? I was looking to add a couple of gigs of to an old system and i am looking at about £60, but you can get 2gig of ddr2 for not much over £30.

Economies of scale. DDR2 is the predominant memory type being produced, so it's cheaper.

    Cheers,

supply and demand, lots of people asking for ddr2, little amount asking for ddr. companies trying to get rid of it though.
