Sorry, but not very bright! I have just upgraded from XP to Vista Home Premium via the mesh DVD which I had to send for. I was having all sorts of problems as it would not upgrade and kept crashing. I then got rid of norton and it seemed to work fine. I have installed AVG instead of Norton. But I have no Aero and no Media Center. Do I have to install these sepatately? Or has something gone wrong? I have looked to see if this has been a common problem, but it does not seem to be. I don't want to start again particularly as evetything seems stable now - but I do want media center. Can anyone help?

What version of Vista is it? If its home basic then you won't get aero or media centre.

He states it's Vista home premium so it should have Aero.

no mention of GPU though - only graphics cards with WDDM drivers can use aero
