    Yup it did all fine now been stable, I think the lockups could be caused by my old HD.

    How would I check if it's borked?

    And do you think the first four levels of Crysis on as high as I dare be enough to test its fine

    Ohh idle now according to coretemp is 35c is that okay?

    Yes thats fine I get that with my E4300 @ 2.7, I couldn't be bothered to try more I have the IP35 E I tried to get 3GHZ but it wouldnt boot so I just left it at 2.7.

    Half an hour on Crysis. Coretemp shows temp's at 44c across all cores mucho suited.

    If you're reading 44c, you're at the upper limit of comfortable as Vista seems to produce results about 15c too low in most diagnostics tools. Definately get a new cooler if I were you (I get about 29-35c max)

    Hmmm...i dont think that strictly true.

    With Everest my temps were the same regardless of whether i use Vista or XP.

    I do have plans for a new cooler, sadly my Scythe Mini Ninja would not fit due to it fouling on my XMS2 Ram.

    Strange! I tried Everest and it reported teh same temps as everything else. As good as the BigTyp 120 cooler is, I struggle to believe I'm getting just 10 degrees above ambient.
