My idle temp on my Q6600 is about 42c, after 3/4hour Crysis it hits about 57c, this is with a 3.2GHZ OC.
Is this borderline or too high and I should drop to 3.0?
Stock Intel Cooler by the way.

Sounds fine, especially for a stock cooler. I wouldn't worry about those temperatures.
Just set a threshold of around 70oC in your motherboard, the computer will then shut down, or beep at you if the temperatures get that high.
I have beep at 67c and shutdown at 70c yeah, I think Biscuit from here told me about that.
I do have plans for a nice new cooler.
Get a nice Scythe Ninja + Rev. B or similar
See the second reply of this thread: AnandTech - MAX temp for Q6600? - he lists the official 'maximum' temperature for your CPU.
It's dropped to 40c now I turned down the damn radiators in my lounge...
Thanks guys glad I bought this Antec 900 now, may be a dust magnet but cools well
what are you using to read those temps?

Sweet, I think 3.2GHZ will be my max then until I sort a better cooler out, I have one being lapped just waiting on being final offered to me.
