Attaching a fan to northbridge (in a safe way).

Hi hexus! I pulled out an old CPU fan (about 40mm 12v, to fit 3 pin) want to use it to cool the northbridge a lil, but still be able to remove it later, with no trace that it was there. dont know what i can use to stick it on there - only thing i have at home is blutack, but im not sure if that safe to be on contact to the heatsink, or be in that environment.

or the GPU is slotted in right under the northbridge...stand it up on the back of that? on the green PCB area, and face it towards the heatsink...but i don't think that is safe either?


any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Why not just hang a 12cm fan just on top of your SATA cable and the graphics card, that will give plenty of cooling to the chipset and much more quiet.

hmm yea, i was thinking i could suspend/hang a fan, but, just gotta find some secure points to do it from, and the case is a very tight squeeze at the moment.

Can you drill the case and mount the fan over just over the Northbridges general area?
